Re: Do you belive in aliens?
lol. I do believe that alien's exist.
Why else would there be so many billions of stars and planets around those stars if not to have some form of alien life on them.
Even if there are little insects on said planets they still count as aliens.

You're suggesting that they exist for the sole purpose of harbouring and sustaining whatever it is we understand "life"
to be?

Re: Do you belive in aliens?
Sorry SP. but that is how i see it. what would be the point of an entire galaxy with only one planet full of life?
Yes i understand that many planets can't have life due to the conditions on the planets.
But i still think that there are many planets, that we have not yet discovered, that do have life on. and again by life i mean anything from tiny bugs to huge Dinosaur sized creatures.
the fact of the matter is that until we are able to get to those planets, or they get to us, we can never be sure.

Re: Do you belive in aliens?
Scientifically speaking the odds against us being alone in the universe is astronomical. Given the sheer size of the numbers of planets in the universe there is sure to be life out there. If they're advanced enough to visit us is a different story....

I don't see why they should necessary have any purpose. They just are.SykomantiS wrote:As opposed to what other purpose, SP
It isn't as though they were designed and constructed with some end in mind.

Re: Do you belive in aliens?
Why assume there is some purpose or point to the extra planets? I agree, there probably is life out there, but not due to some plan or purpose. Why else would there be so many billions of stars and planets around those stars if not to have some form of alien life on them

Re: Do you belive in aliens?
true. It's not like we are the one and only way life can be formed...
For all we know there are some aliens out there that don't need air at all. So no need to breath maybe. then they could possibly be floating around in space that we have yet to explore. doesn't change the fact that we will only find out when we are able to travel to the stars.

Careful mister Scientist you do not have sufficient evidence to make a decision either way, you can make a hypothesis for either one but you can't state it as fact.KALSTER wrote: but not due to some plan or purpose.
I’m rather curious if we do move to other mudballs if the governments will try to run colonies as well or whether everyone will go on their own mission

Re: Do you belive in aliens?
Fair point, though that goes both ways. I was just wondering why you guys are talking about it like it is a foregone conclusion. There is lots of evidence that there is no purpose, but it is not proven. There is some evidence for it as well, but not as strong as against imo.you do not have sufficient evidence to make a decision either way, you can make a hypothesis for either one but you can't state it as fact.
