Yeah, I think Personalized Avatars would be so cool! They would make such a big difference to the content on this website.
I get soooooo bored and miserable when I see that people have to use the default avatars.
New smileys would also make a big difference because I find it very difficult to express my opinion in words sometimes.
For example: a cool smiley that shoots another cool smiley would help me express my attitude towards idiots.

Hey Cameron, dunno if you checked out this suggestion already, but it was made in one of the other forums and I am just reposting here.

Can you please make the quicklaunch bar take you to the last page of a forum?
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

The smileys at the begining of this post look realy cool, would it be possible to add them to the current ones? This would be a very nice change. Also personal avitars would be a very nice addition!

Hey Cameron

It is well into 2003 now wouldnt you say, so where are the extra smileys, and the button to get to the end of a post?

Not whining, just reminding you that said last year you would update the site early this year.

Here is another one of these things that could make life a bit easier!
How about putting the last posters name in a set of brackets after the topic on the quick launch bar so that you can see who posted last!

Dunno about you guys I hate waiting for sumthing to happen and the realize that there was been a whole conversation going in the first forum!

Hail to Snow Monkey! Good idea!

How about a pop-up message that gives you a list/links to all the topics that have been active since your last visit? It´s a pain going all over the place, trying to catch up on you guys who come on during the day when us night owls are working or sleeping ...

I don´t know if everybody is experiencing this problem, but often when I have been on the forums for a while, I will see a forum jump to the top of the recent posts list. When I click on the forum is won´t show me anything new until I refresh the page. Eventually I find myself refreshing every page after it opens up just to see the latest posts. I don´t know what is causing this problem, but if it is happening to everyone, I would expect it is the webpage design?

So Cameron, when are we going to actually see any changes to make this website really worth visiting? We´ve all made lots of suggestions, some of which you really should consider seriously.

It would be nice to see things made more user-friendly, especially for newbies - it´s not nice to see them getting flamed when asking for help. They should be able to post their questions and get an Intelligent answer. Not everyone who uses the internet or a computer is IT literate and there is a real need for an effective team of advice givers.

How about it Loskop? Are you up for it?

Does anybody out there care about what goes on here at all or are we just voices on the wind?

Hey guys, give Cameron a break...

Your ideas are great and would make an big improvement to an already good site (I too would like to see some changes) but like damn...The man works for a living like some of us too, by helping to create our favorite PC mag (and with a new editor and revamping it some too). I’m sure the man will come round to it some time. And then there is the thing about his black belt, like Mars used to say ‘don’t f**k with Cameron’.
That’s my bit, now you can burn the newbie…

Thanks for the good words Lancelot - a real gentleman!

Zero seems to live up to his name too - zero intelligence. Zero says "Hey guys, give Cameron a break... "

How many years must we wait for a few simple requests or even just to have questions answered. The "Loscovia" has been given so many breaks he´s not just out to lunch he seems to have left on long leave!!

And Zero also says. "And then there is the thing about his black belt, like Mars used to say ‘don’t f**k with Cameron’. That’s my bit, now you can burn the newbie… "

Mars is not around anymore, Zero - more´s the pity . . .

Why have a website at all? Why say in the mag : "Hey visit our website and meet other readers." To what purpose? To get flamed and treated like a total piece of crap by snot-nosed virtual bullies? What a lovely way to treat a visitor. I think the attitudes that have been growing around here are totally out of line. If the forum can´t run along certain lines and standards, then it seems pointless even coming here. You will by now have gathered that I have had enough of promises and pie in the sky nonsense.

How many times do people ask for help and generally speaking are ignored - except for rude comments and remarks and very little help. Why does it take so long for Cameron or whoever to initialize a proper help forum for newbies, with guidelines on how to place their query, eg, what OS (operating system) they´re using. What hardware, what actually happens while they´re having their problem etc etc - do you get my drift? Visit the pcformat.co.uk forum and see the way that is set out and you´ll see what I mean. Of course there are other places to go to ask for help and advice too. Wouldn´t it be great if people made this website their first choice though?
Well, well… what big teeth we’ve got. I’ll assume u was in a bad mood and all when u posted Madgic, since I tried to convey my point in a good-humored way. But burnt-to-a-crisp/zero-intelligence/un-gentlemanly-like and all I still feel the same way(u can read it again if u like). And about being flamed by snotty-kiddies, well flame the little *****s to hell I say (ask naughty and Synkronos how-to). Yes, it’s a pity Mars is gone, but we got Tamsini in his place (nice to have a good looking editor for a change, hey). Good to hear about the planned changes, Cameron, can’t wait. That’s my other bit.
Thanks for the update, the upgrade sounds like it will be worth the wait. However would it be possible to give a few realistic dates for us to look forward to, and maybe give you some more structured deadlines to work for as well!
