Notice the 4890 being faster than the 5770 too - So to crossfire 2 x 4890's would be quite a bit faster than 2 x 5770's

This is why I cant understand people choosing a 5770 over a 4890. Sure you get DX11 but how many DX11 titles are out anyway? Besides that, what would the performance be like if you played DX11? You most certainly would struggle to hold high maybe even med-high gfx settings, so chances are, you'll play on DX9 or DX10 and higher the gfx settings. That's what I would do anyway...

Plz don't remind me, my one mate got a 4890 before i got my 5770, and ever since he hasn't stopped bitching how it's better...blah blah blah  , but from what i hear the 5770 can be overclocked more than a 4890...

Isn't DX11 supposed to be less resource intensive than DX10/9?

This is what I heard too, I'm not exactly convinced but alas I could be wrong

Personally I tried the new Stalker with DX11 and felt random lags and jerks, lowering this to DX10 helped eliminate some of the lag...

It is possible that it was more of a driver problem though

Haha oh they smoke, just not on camera, and trust me they're not smoking tobacco either...

Yeah stalker is usually quite buggy, but I must say the latest one has ironed out most of the bugs I saw in the previous stalkers,

A few reviews I read before getting the game also mentioned this but I guess after a few patches we'll see

Never mind that 3D mark points are about as useful as a turd sandwich when it comes to actual real world performance comparisson.

Agreed you cannot only go by your 3D mark score, but they do nonetheless give some indication as to performance. Check some game benchmarks, they will more or less tell a similar story

And yeah I quite enjoy the new stalker - it can get a bit boring and maybe slightly repetitive but not far cry 2 repititive...

It's quite a good game imo

So it looks like DX11 has an impact of roughly 10fps compared to DX10. But that's just one game.

Well, it might be only 1 game, but at least it's a promising sign for the future.

As far as I know (which isn't very far) you can CrossFire different ATI cards. Not sure about a DX 10 and a DX 11 card together, though.

I seriously doubt that... I'm sure the new nVidia cards are going to be very pricey... unless nVidia really surprise us.

Dude, you're asking questions that are not possible to answer right now. As far as I know, no-one here is a psychic.

The new nvidia cards are launching tomorrow officially, but they will probably not be available in SA right away. And yes, the 470 will be the cheaper one.
