I had the RROD recently - Called MR$ Helpdesk - they replaced my console. I am told you have a 3 year warranty against the RROD.

As long you console is not a grey product, you will get a replacement console.

Troble is, my friend was "taking care" of it and when it started giving issues so he opened it up to take a look, and he managed to lose the slip from Look and Listen.

I'm not too stressed, as I really didn't pay anything for it and I'm sure Dae could put it to good use. I was only using it to stream audio and video before it died. I'm starting to put together a PC to replace the Xbox.

I'm in to these kind of games. Sure its repetitive but what game isn't ...

I just opened up that 360 i got from you. Look at this. Top of the optical drive:

So "your friend" might have pulled out the disc balancing goodie. I'll check now now.

The motherboard:

One cap completely pried out of place and another one completely missing...

What's going on here?

Ettienne, little help please. I can't get my XBOX open. I get the top cover of and the bottom one (2 x gray covers) but the whites just wont move!! Can you give me a guide on how to open it?

I recently got an XBOX and I love it.. It is the arcade bundle,
does this model also give the RROD error and does it also scratch the discs? Or did they fix the problems in the arcade machine?

All 360s can RROD and scratch discs. Just hope that yours won't

I'm not sure how the warranties work, but i doubt it. Maybe if the scratches are bad
