We'll have full details after the conference call. The license agreement stems from the Intel/NV dispute over the right to build chipsets that interface with Intel CPUs that use DMI/QPI instead of the traditional GTL+ FSB.
Um... WHAT?

Does AMD have anything in the line of CPUs coming out soon? I'm a bit behind on new stuff. Haven't even read up on the new Sandy Brigde.

Yea apparently Bulldozer is their reaction to the new Intel line of CPU's (when it comes out I have no idea) but I have not heard much in the way of new AMD products.

So is Sandy Bridge the business or not? Some reviews say it's the business and others say it's not all that great for gaming. :|

im thinking its the business! its got great overclocking potential & overtakes LGA1366 i7's most of the time.i wouldn't swap out my i7 for it, but any 1156 users could see a great boost from it, for shizzy

I think reguardless of the i7 you go for it can probably kick so much behind that you wont care if it is suppose to be a business solution.

Well, I use my PC mainly for gaming so that would be my sole motivation for getting it. I think I'll wait for 2011.

The Problem

Cougar Point (Intel’s 6-series chipsets: H67/P67) has two sets of SATA ports: four that support 3Gbps operation, and two that support 6Gbps operation. Each set of ports requires its own PLL source.

Okay, so it's settled. I won't be getting Socket 1155. At least I have time to save before Socket 2011 comes out!
