ok..im back here once again haha..still havent got the samasung xl2370 yet, but now i have a new option
Samsung xl2370/px2370 or the acer GD245HQ (120hz)..only prob is i been doing research on it and have seen a few people complaining about poor 2D (Desktop) quality, saying the lettering has halos around it(While OD is turned on). but otherwise the 3d Vision is Great..ill be running games normally for now, til maybe later if i decide to get a 3d vision kit..

so now for normal non 3d gaming, is it worth it? (i currently have 18.5' samsung(60hz))..will it be a good improvement over that?and if any1 here maybe has the acer can they give their "review" on it!

thanks

I'm curious to see what 3D gaming looks like. Anyone here using a 3D monitor?

Latest Nvidia Drivers have a 3d Emulator feature, all you need are the 3d goggles :) I'm not sure if all cards support this feature, but my 9500GT does.

true it does, but AFAIK if the monitor doesnt support a high enough refresh rate the effect wont be that great, dnt know if you'll be able to "experience" it on a screen that only supports 60-80hz, hence why the 3d monitors support 120hz

Wow... sounds intense! But I'd still like to take it for a test drive before I consider getting it, no matter how awesome other people say it is. :)

yeh +1 to that would rather see it with my own eyes and test it than go on what people say it is :D just now you fork out a bunch of cash for the goggles and then a new screen and it sucks

I'm considering getting a 3D monitor, not so much because of the 3D, but because of the 120 Hz refresh rate. Was looking at the Asus GD235HZ. What you guys think?

Oops, I see I posted the GD245HZ pic instead. Oh well, guess they're pretty much the same.

Mystical, i had the same idea as you haha :P
also wanted it for the 120hz ( I want awesome FPS Dammit :P )
but yeh, not sure if 1 should go for the monitors they brought out now for 3d ( with that amount of hz) or wait a while until they maybe bring out a better model..do research on it, i did it on the screen i was after and saw quite a few complaints on it esp for non 3d, So kinda changed my mind a bit, will have to see what gets released next haha

it was the acer GD245HQ ..people were complaining it has poor desktop quality and halo's around letters, half the screen is brighter than the other etc etc, but i didnt bother to look for other 3d monitors, just checked that 1 coz i could get it where i work at cost price

True that, but i guess if you're on a budget, like I am, it would have to suffice

I've decided against a 3D monitor. I just don't have that kind of money. I don't actually want 3D, I just want the 120Hz, but too expensive!

Depends on the resolution of the TV and the performance of the card. Full HD TVs don't have the same picture quality as monitors, but I guess that's to be expected.

Hooked up my PC to my GF's full HD Samsung TV via HDMI. Cool for watching movies. Didn't test any gaming though.

Anyone have experience with the Mecer large panels? A friend of mine wants to buy the 47" one for XBox gaming, HD satellite and Blu Ray.
