Using the wolverine kernel that it came with so far. Will test it out before experimenting with others...

Yeah thats the one I am reading problems with... One problem that really concerns me is that the CWM backup has a MD5 issue...

@ryan I am not going MIUI, still seems incomplete. On the plus I have flashed Siyah kernel and this is awesome so far.

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Hi guys.
Do you know anything about RILs? i have been reading the Desire HD thread on xda. and they keep saying that you need to flash a compatible RIL with your Radio.
I am still using stock radio that came with my phone and i am getting a full days use with browsing and emails constant downloading via auto sync and WIFI is on most of the day uses about 25% of the battery.
On lite use i get two days on one charge.
was hoping to upgrade the raio for even better performance.
Using cyanogen mod 7.1

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
So ryan how goes MIUI? What I meant by incomplete were mentions of the recovery md5 issue, some parts still being in Chinese and reported issues of incorrect battery reporting and overheating. I am still very tempted to try it and can see myself flashing it tomorrow when the newest update gets released.

Took the plunge and installed it. It is very different and feels very much like the iOS interface . Wish I could create folders for grouping apps...

Seems that Ice Cream Sandwich is best Android yet.
The Register wrote:Android moves it’s game on by the greatest degree yet. In terms of look and feel it’s now hard on the heels of iOS and well ahead of WinPho 7.5 and BlackBerry 7. The new look will also raise the question of do we need third-party overlays anymore?

Just read that as well, can't wait for ICS! Should be about 6 weeks until CM 9 is out...
Anak, you can create folders for grouping apps, just like iOS. That's one of the things I liked about MIUI...

Yeah worked it out in the end but now I am back on Darky. That battery drain was way to big on MIUI...
6 weeks till a CynoICS, that puts it at 1st week of Jan. Should be back at work for the mass download to begin .

3D Mark is coming to Android phones near you in 2012
By Daniel Cooper posted Nov 30th 2011 4:42PM
Futuremark, father of 3DMark and PCMark, has begun work on an Android edition of its benchmarking software. Wittily titled 3DMark for Android, it'll bring the industry-standard testing tools to all the phones in Google's yard. When finished, users will be able to measure performance by pushing the phone's CPU, rendering, openGL and physics engines to the limits. Results will be comparable against the company's newest software, including the forthcoming Windows 8 build. It's inviting handset makers to join a benchmark development program, an exclusive club that already has AMD, NVIDIA, Intel, Imagination Technologies, Dell and HP on the guest list, you can see the full PR after the break -- just be advised, it's black tie only.

Apple explodes on planes, Samsung explodes in pockets...

Follow the link for pics.Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket explodes in man’s pocket
Apple has accused Samsung of copying its designs on a number of occasions. While the foundation for Apple’s accusations is questionable, this is one area where Samsung clearly stole a page right out of Apple’s playbook. BGR reported earlier this week that a passenger aboard a flight in Australia was welcomed to his destination by a spontaneously combusting iPhone 4. Now, just three days later, a user on the xda-developers forum posted images of his friend’s Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, which supposedly exploded in the man’s pocket. “He said he heard a sound, [felt] a burning sensation on his leg and as he pulled this piece of junk out of his pocket he smelled burning,” the forum user wrote. “There was smoke coming out of his pocket and out of the phone.” It does not appear that the man was injured by the smoldering smartphone. Additional images of the fried Galaxy S II Skyrocket follow below.
Thanks, Scott M.

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Oh, and BTW. These articles exaggerate a bit. neither the iPhone nor the S2 exploded, the simply burned. IMO there's a huge difference between a explosion and a little electrical fire.
