official HL 2 patches and updates are usually Steam-only.

Has anyone got an updated CS:S ?
I'm thinking of bringing in my box to the office to sort this out but I'm not sure if it's really worth the hassle right now.
I've got that error where steam has to connect after a month.

I'm not gonna update this. Infact I doubt I'm gonna play this game again. 110Mb's gonna take me like 14hours anyway.

Just Google for CS source maps - there seems to be plenty out there.

Is there any way to play the new CS Source offline with bots?

yes there is, but you need a cracked version of steam and adsl to download the updates. then you have bots!

The new update has bots included and they can be played offline.

yup, I did the whole steam update thing on Friday and battled a bit to get CS:S to work offline - it kept saying 99% done in the game properties.
all it needed was a reboot and then it said 100% - ready to be played offline.
Now I need to get my hands on some more maps...
edit: thanks eagerBeaver.

Guys, I seem to be getting sunned pauses in HL2 and CS...what could this be from? My FPS are 75 and my ping is 80 when I play online.
*edit* I tried the latest official drivers and they also dont help
