Are you referring to BloodRayne? It's probably because you have a faster CPU.dammod wrote:Guys I still dont get it...why does my GF6 Ultra play HL2 better than some one with a X800XT.

If you run HL 2 on 2 PC's with the exact same specs, except one with Ati and the other Nvidia, the Ati one will run slightly faster, perhaps 5fps or so... also check that your game is running in Direct X 9 mode, some of the Nvidia cards run the game in DX 8, unless you change it in the console.dammod wrote:OK then, but wasnt HL2 supposed to struggle on Nvidia's?

how do I check what mode I am in? How do I change to DX9 mode? Will I have to change it each time I play?OnlyOneKenobi wrote:If you run HL 2 on 2 PC's with the exact same specs, except one with Ati and the other Nvidia, the Ati one will run slightly faster, perhaps 5fps or so... also check that your game is running in Direct X 9 mode, some of the Nvidia cards run the game in DX 8, unless you change it in the console.dammod wrote:OK then, but wasnt HL2 supposed to struggle on Nvidia's?

If it's just the FX range that's set to DX 8 then you don't need to worry, but if you want to check, just go into your graphic settings and you should see whether it's set to DX 8 or DX 9.dammod wrote:how do I check what mode I am in? Hmmm you now make me wonder about having only half a life without Half life....
"Integrity" and "integer" both contain a Latin root meaning "whole; complete." The root sense, then, is that people may be said to be acting with integrity when their beliefs, words, and actions have a sense of unity or wholeness.
