IMO Vista > XP ;) :D xD

Dont know if you knwo run the console version with the GUI version :?

Also when you run them from inside the seperate folders, make sure to scrap all settings then run it and when it asks you if you want to configure advanced settings, say yes. Then the very last step I think it was, will ask you what Computer ID you want to give it or something like that...set that to a number which you havent assigned to another version of F@H ;)

Try that, see if that works :P

Because you seem to be tearing away from me 8O Its unfair and I want a rematch
I cant get the SMP client running!

Maybe you can help me through remote assistant?
Ill be/am running Ubuntu through VMWare...but kinda know nothing about Linux and am really starting to hate it.

Im jsut running 3 line based clients in Vista 64bit on my Q9300.
I also restart my PC every now and then which resets my current WU's I was busy with :(
I've been thinking...why don't you try shortening the checkpoint frequency under the advanced tab. Perhaps this will help with the resetting prob.

The SMP clients are the best. For Windows non SMP the console is the best. :)

I still need help with getting the SMP client to work in linux! :D

Hey everyone
I've also started too fold, first WU is estimated too finish today at 16:54 hopefully it will finish earlier. One question, when i shutdown/restart my computer will i have to start from scratch or will the progress be saved with the WU?
Wow okay it just jumped to 15:26 :)

The default setting for the app is to save every 15 minutes... this can be changed by running fah.exe -config and saying yes is asked to change advanced options (if memory serves me)...

Just always try to stop the client (if you can)... I have lost many WU through load shedding a while back...

In windows you can either use "affinity magic" (I think thats the apps name) OR you can go to task manager find the process and then right click the process, select "Process affinity" (or similar) then select which cores to run it on

I'd stick with just doing it through task manager, both accomplish the same thing. Only thing is with doing it through task manager is that you have to do it every time you start up. But I don't think affinity magic has profiles, so I think its much over muchness. I use Linux SMP so I can't offer more help on the windows side of things, just regurgitating what I've read

The previous WU posted is what's running on my lappie...this is running on my PC:
Current Work Unit
-----------------
Name: p4432_Seq41_Amber03
Download time: May 30 17:19:55
Due time: August 1 17:19:55
Progress: 63% [||||||____]

I only started it yesterday, although the download time is specified as May 30th...I had to reload the application.

Anyone running Vista with the GUI version 5.03? When I select "display" or "fullscreen", all I get is a see-through window. Thought it was supposed to be like that until I did the same on the lappie ad it actually gives me a proper display :?
