That exactly the level I cant complete!! I got where you must wait for the chopper to come, and I keep dying there! :x
And the level is called "One shot, one kill", so I haven't gotten to "Ultimatum" yet

thats what I meant.... 1 claymore will probably take out at most 20-30 guys (or at least wound them) and only if they are spread out, but close together within the striking distance of the effective range.

I am sure there is no way the COD devs made the attacking force so nicely bunched up together. Unless you can funnel them between a building of sorts.

OK.

I am sooo peeved its not even real. Great wall of text incoming.

COD, the original, allows me to play up to the point where you land in a glider by a bridge you need to defend. I do that and complete the night missions on the bridge, ending with where you use a Bren Gun to take out a tank. No probs here.

Then morning breaks and you have to defend the west bank of the canal to protect the bridge. You and your mates now gets over-run by Germans and your squad leader tell everyone to fall back to the other side of the bridge, and you have to take up a machinegun post on the bridge to provide covering fire while they fall back. Up to this point no issues.

I have done this. In fact I have done this and gave covering fire for more than 15 minutes thinking maybe this is just a long fight. I fall back and "use" the gun and fire until there is no Germans left to provide covering fire against...

The issue is, the game at that point don’t give me an "objective complete" notification. The gold star where you have to move to is exactly on the machine gun, and that is where I stay, although I did during one or two attempts try to run around the scenario to see if I didnt miss anything.

How do I get the game to "continue" past that point?

2nd Issue.
So I installed the expansion to the first COD. Bug ridden to hell and back. You shoot Germans, and they freeze up like a statue. If you don't follow your squad leader’s directions to a T, the event triggers don't trigger and you are stuck like the first game, having to redo the scene to progress. So F that.

3rd Issue
So I install COD2. I have a 8800GTS. Unsupported grafix according to their website. WTF ???? And then they have the audacity to have a Nvidia "How it's meant to be played" recommendation on the game.

And at last.....
Their redemption. COD4 Modern warfare made all the pain go away. It really is that good.

Soooo, anyone have any inputs about those issues I have ?

No man :P

I only got to the middle of the first COD. With the expansion to that I played maybe 3 scenarios. COD2 I couldn't touch and I am 5 or 6 scenarios into the first act on COD4, after trying my luck on the hardest level first. Went back to regular.

The versions I bought have all the latest pathes included.
I have downloaded the latest patches to confirm this and indeed, it tells me the games already have those patches applied.

-----------------------------------------------
Hold the bridge until releived by Allied Forces
-----------------------------------------------

This stage will start off with a conversation between Cpt. Price and another
soldier. After a few seconds off chit-chat your squad will come under enemy
fire. Quickly jump into one of the nearby trenches and wait for the initial
bombings to pass. When you are ready hop out of the trench and start heading
across the bridge to the west.

---------------------------------
Defend the West Bank of the Canal
---------------------------------

When you reach the other side of the bridge your squad will come under fire
from three directions. Though you are attacked from the west, north, and south,
most of the attention seems to come fromt the south.

So focus your aim at the south area while keeping tabs to the north. The Enfield
is pretty much the exact same as the Kar98k, meaning one hit kills.

Use the low fences as cover while you pick off each German one-by-one. After a
few waves the Germans will stary coming from the north. Whip out your machine
gun and hammer down on the advancing forces. When the Germans start coming to
populated Cpt. Price will order you and the rest of the squad to full back.

------------------------------------------------------
Fall back to the Machine Gun and provide covering fire
------------------------------------------------------

Don't bother with the remaining Germans. Instead, head back to the base of the
bridge. Load up on ammo and health then head east to the other side of the
bridge.

To the left you will stot a small structure with an MG42 poking out of it. Go
around the back and mount the MG42. In order to complete this objective you must
take out as many Germans as possible so that the sqaud can fall back to the
other side of the bridge.

Its a fairly easy. Just point towards the Germans whom are garrisoned next to
the northern fence and fire. Whenever you see ejecting brass [Fire out of the
guns] unload a ton of lead in that general direction. Dont worry about the
bullets whizing past your head, they rarely hit and do little damage.

After abouth 40 seconds of intense firing the sqaud will make it to the other
side of the bridge. As they do a sound can be heard in the distance, tank
treads.

--------------------------
Destroy the incoming tanks
--------------------------

Dismount the MG42 and head to southern side of the bridge. Hop onto the Flak'88
anti-aircraft gun and look towards the north on the other side of the river.
A tank is slowly advancing towards the town. Dont let it reach its destination.
Fire of a fre rockets at it to disable it.

Once its destroyed an additional tank will head in from the north on your side
of the bridge. Go towards the structure to the north and swing around to the
back of the bunker.

Jump down in the trench and grab a Panzerfaust. Wait until the tank comes into
view then fire off a round at its turret for an instant kill. If you havent
noticed, their is a 5:00 timer on the top portion of the screen.

-----------------------------------------------
Hold the bridge until releived by Allied Forces
-----------------------------------------------

Go back around the bunker. Mount the Flak'88 and look towards the bridge. Since
the Falk has unlimited ammo, you might as well use some. Bombard the bridge
until another tank shows up.

-------------------------
Destroy the incoming tank (S)
-------------------------

Jump off the Flak '88 and head around the back of the bunker. Grab anouther
Panzerfaust then enter the bunker. Go around to the peep hole and look to the
south on your side of the bridge. Another tank will approach, actually giving
you an open shot.

Fire off a rocket at the tank [Which can be difficult considering the range]/
If your on normal it shouldnt be a problem but the harder difficulties have
jacked down the accuracy of the Panzerfaust.

Anyway, once the tank has been blown to bits head back to the trench. Grab
another Panzerfaust then head into the bunker. Get used to this formula, as its
the easiest one I know of. Tanks will appear at random, so be ready to shoot
either way. Heres a map of the spawn points.

*2

*1
| |
| | &&&&&&
|____________| &&&&&& *= Spawn Point
BRIDGE &= Bunker
____________
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
*4 *3

I will provide a stradegy for the incoming tanks as they came to me. Anyway,
head out back and look to the north. A tank will approach from spawn point 1.
Wait until its far enough up the road then fire off a Panzerfaust at it's
Turret.

Go back and grab another Panzerfaust then wait for the objectives to be updated.
Another tank [According to my computer] will spawn at point 3.

Head over to the peek hole and look out. Fire at the Tank to destroy it, though
the innacuracy of the Panzerfaust will effect your shot to a degree. Now run
to the back of the bunker and collect another Panzerfaust. Another Panzer will
apporach from spawn point 2. Stand in the trenches and face the east.

When the tank comes rolling past fire off a rocket at its turret. Once its
destroyed head back into the bunker. Grab a Panzerfaust lying on the stairs then
wait for second. I had about 1:20 seconds left on the clock right now. Some
music will kick in and another tanke will approach from spawn point 4. Instead
off immediatly attacking, wait about 30 seconds. This will give the tank time
to stop allowing a much easier target to hit.

Once the clock is at about :50 head over to the peek hole. Fire a round at the
tank on the other side of the river then head inside the bunker. From here
just wait until the timer runs out and you will be presented with a new
objective.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Help the reinforcements clear the area of any remaining enemies
---------------------------------------------------------------

Go to back trench and grab one of the Lee Enfields. Now go back into the bunker
and mount the MG42 next to the peek hole. Near spawn point 3 about a dozen
Germans will appear. Mow them down just as you would tall grass.

After the group is dead dismount the machine gun then head outside. Clear up
any stragglers then you will have beaten the second to last objective.

-----------------------
Meet with Captain Price
-----------------------

Go to the front of the bunker and walk up to Cpt. Price. After a small chat
the level will end.

I remember something that the machine gun wouldn't always trigger, because the moment you mount it, your squad is suppost to fall back. But yes, once it didn't happen, so I just restarted that mission and it worked.

Weird, I never had issues like that with my cod:uo :?

That's even weirder, you say the game doesn't even run? Do you have the gts 320mb or the gts 512mb? (G80 or G92)? Because my 8800GT 512 (G92) doesn't have this issue.

I agree, cod4 is awesome. :D

I do remember having issues on that particular level too... but I just killed Nazis until things came right...
