Call of Duty peeved me off...

Post by Sojourn »

Hi guys

I have never tried COD, but want to start playing it. have a few questions now.
Do you need to buy an initial copy of the game and only then the expansions? Or will the "expansions" work fine by themselves? You need to register and activate the game over the net too right?

Then, what is the current mainstream version of the game in use (ie at Lans etc etc) Which version is best for solo play ?

Thanks guys

You need the original game first, then the expansions.

The games have a single player aspect to them, and they are really good to play.
None of them require online activation.
COD4 is being played at LANs and the current version is 1.7

When you finish the career you unlock arcade mode, it lets you play the game again either single missions or the whole game and then you get points and stuff, it's awesome :P

Is this arcade mode only in the new game or the older versions too?

Kalahari.net should deliver my sweets either today or tomorrow.
Cant wait.

I got COD Deluxe
COD 2
COD 4

Gona start playing the 1st one, do the expnasions then move up to 4 eventually. Its gona be fun.

The older games COD 1 + expansion and COD 2 + explansion.... do they have patches I would need to get? Stuff like bug fixes etc etc ?

AFAIK, cod2 doesn't have expansion packs. And I'm not sure about this, but I would expect that you would get them up to date. For cod2 I know the latest patch is v1.3, and for cod4 it is v1.7

I love the cod series! Number 1 was very origional and fun, and it's expansion just maxed that fun with the new levels and weapons. Cod2 is by far the best (for me). the whole game was much more detailed and authentic. Cod4 is also great, especially the whole modern warfare thing. :) Only problem is that cod4 isn't playable at the hardest level, you get shot 3 times and you die. :x
And the best thing of the series, it is SO easy to mod for it! :P

btw, how much did you pay at kalahari for the series?

lol, i completed the game on hardest level, well, not completely. I had to skip One hit, One kill and another level (forgot name) where you had to rescue Griggs.

That One hit One kill is an insanely hard level. 8O
