AGP graphics Cards. (AKA help me, I'm spoilt for choice)
Nehalem won't be available to the average enthusiast until middle of next year.
What I suggest the OP does instead of waiting a year is buy the following upgrade kit:
P5K-SE motherboard
E2180 dual core CPU
1900GT graphics
Works out at around R2k incl from pcint.
It should fit in your old antique case, maybe need to mod some things. You might need more than 350W which I would consider totally minimum supply that would work. A bit risky but possible. 400W quality would be good.

I have a Modded P3 Case Waiting For some life, and the board shouldn't be too different, none the less, i do have a set of taps and dies to fix the case if need be
Um any reason for that choice of motherboard? Are Asus Board at least stable these days, i know there have been many complaints in the past?

um this one here
sybaritic's price is so high because it includes the vat, otherwise it'd essentially be the same price as PCINT...
Edit: Thats excellent value for money. some of the other boards have barely anything. I want to price a few other brands. i'm impressed with this intel motherboard in the PC
Second Edit: Wouldn't go for anything less than 500 watts.![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Intel locks the FSB. No overclocking. That P5K will get that little Pentium E2180 to 4Ghz if you get good air cooling (only needs FSB1600 which is what the board is rated to do by standard). You'll be able to hit 3Ghz with ease, even without cooling or good RAM.
ASUS practically rules the budget overclocking scene (ie they use very good components which translates to high stability even when you don't clock). If I was on a very tight budget and buying a PC for my gran, I'd get her an Intel board. Also good for a work PC, but not gaming.
EDIT: The P5K-SE is R260 cheaper at pcint than sybaritic. Also check Prophecy and Landmarkpc, they have some good specials.

So close to 1337ness Intel, so close, but a miss is as good as a mile.
