What is pam-devel?

Post by senile »

And where can I download the RPM for it? Google does not know.

By the way, it's a requirement for VirtualBox using OpenSUSE. Perhaps the linux experts can suggest an alternative...

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/3/ ... /pam-devel

Second result in my Google search.

PAM, by the way, is Pluggable Authentication Modules (or something like that). The "devel" package is typically development libraries.

Yeah but those downloads do not seem to work, I tried it yesterday.

There has to be an easier way to do virtualization on linux. But what?

You can find rpms for FC 1 - 9 from the mirrors at

http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/publiclist/Fedora/9/

If you need any help finding the right directory let me know.

If you post your release of Fedora, I'll give you a direct link to the rpm you need.

Virtualisation? May I ask what that is?

Thanks, but I've decided to use Debian instead. I found it much more stable and faster than any other distro I've ever used.

Oh, by the way, pam stands for plugable authentication modules if it's the same pam I'm thinking of... one of them at least.
