ATI 4850 review
ATI 4850 review
Looking very good for the entry level ATI 4850:
Crysis (High) @ 1650x1050 no AA - 35FPS
3DMark '03 - 43K
3DMark '05 - 22K
3DMark '06 - 14.4K
All tests run on a Quad clocked at 4GHz (400X10) and graphics card at stock.

Single slot yes but in the review it was running a bit hot (79C at idle!).Hman wrote:I feel the 4870 is going to be full of win.
For me personally I'm really tempted to get the 4850 seeing as it's a single slot solution.
Hopefully the HIS range of cards will run a lot cooler with the IceQ 3 cooling solution.
Only 14 400 on 3dmark06? I get that with my 8800GT and Q6600 @ 3.4GHZ 1700FSB. I was expecting closer to 17 000. Cause everywhere i check on the net it claims its 20% faster than the 8800GT.
Id say the The new Nvidia`s are looking a bit beter at the moment. but i wil still buy a HD4870x2 if it performes good enough and beats the 280GTX.

Sorry R3D, I miss read your post totally it seems.
Yeah Mike, the 280 is around 5-10% quicker than the 9800GX2 which is really poor show by nVidia IMO. I'm no ATI fan boi but I'm holding thumbs for the Red team this time around.
Starbound - I'm under NDA not to release pricing yet but I'll say the full range of ATI cards are going to be very well priced.

If they've got something good in the R2.5k - R3.5k range, that would be excellent, it would fill the gap nicely.but I'll say the full range of ATI cards are going to be very well priced.

My thumbs are also held. I'd really like to do some Xfire action and see closer to 40kandyddr wrote:Yeah Mike, the 280 is around 5-10% quicker than the 9800GX2 which is really poor show by nVidia IMO. I'm no ATI fan boi but I'm holding thumbs for the Red team this time around.
