Looking for good web design tutorials for photoshop cs3

Post by CesarePlay »

I want to make more advanced website layouts for websites in photoshop cs3. I pretty handy with graphic design but there are things that I am not sure how to create. What are the best online tutorials I can use for this?

The main reason for this is I want to drastically improve my skills. Trial and error has gotten me this far but I need tutorials to learn more. I tried googling but not really finding what I am looking for. The one website I used to use is no longer online. :(

Keep in mind that CS3 will not make you a better designer.

I can do almost everything in Photoshop 7 that I can do in CS3. The work-flow in CS3 is simply better.

Learn and apply the principles of good design before trying to rescue bad design with flimsy tricks.

Ok. I will keep looking. But I will have to check tomorrow because I likely get load shedded in about 30 minutes or so.

I know. It is much better than photoshop 7 in my opinion. The only problem is there are quite a few designs tricks etc that I am not sure how to make. I do practise a lot and getting much better but I still need some guidance to make myself better. I made laods of new styles and gradients etc but to make way more difficult things than I can do requires tutorials or some guide on how to do them.

In fact any web design tutorial is what I am looking for including photoshop ones.

The best advice I can give you is to keep is simple and subtle.

Don't over design things. People are quick to add 10meter wide drop shadows etc to a design thinking it will fix it. It doesn't

Personally I never use bevel effect. I use only drop shadows, gradient fills, inner glows and a few other minor effect. NEVER EVER EVER EMBOSS ANYTHING.

Good design comes with experience. Always try to improve on your own work, and have people crit it.

Ok.I made a few designs which I tried to keep simple and different from the norm. I have to change the one because I had outer glow on it but I think it is simple and is easy to navigate. Once I fixed a couple of things on it maybe you could have a look at it.

+1 there. Less is more. You don't want it looking cheap.
