VIVO - Video input / Video output - essentially, your card can input video, aswell as outputting, allowing you to video edit.

Rage Theatre - the chip that makes this possible. It's mounted on the back of the X800 Pro, if your card has it. Additionally, there will be a small yellow connector just below the power connector on the card.

Why is it important? Well, obviously it's cool if you are interested in video editing :P

But beyond that, early Vivo X800 Pro's have to date proved to be X800XT's with the four pipes locked out in software - IE, a simple BIOS flash and you have yourself 16 pipes :D Additionally, they have 1.6ns ram, rather than the 2.0ns ram that X800's should have.

All the MSI cards I've seen so far did not have the Rage Theatre chip, but maybe you got lucky?

Does anybody know if there's a softmod for the X800 Pro with no VIVO or Rage theatre.

To date, their is no soft mod. One may or may not become available - some people think it's impossible (physical contacts need to be linked), others say it should be possible in software.

At the moment, their is a hard mod that has been semi-succesful - about 30 to 40% of cards run fine with all 16 pipes enabled, others seem to not enable the pipes at all, and some give artifacts when modded. The hard mod is quite intense - linking some tiny contacts on the chip's packaging with conductive paint.
