Inside the Xbox 360 HDD enclosure
I've been doing research on the 360 since before i got my first one a few months ago. Specifically research on the hardware/modding side. One thing that i've been wanting to do for ages was open up my HDD. I was reluctant though because it's still under warranty, but just now i decided to open it ayway.
So, here's the HDD:
Underneath:
Top cover off:
Random metal cover off and HDD exposed:
HDD out:
My specific 360 has a Samsung disk:
Man, i wish i wasn't going on holiday... lol... i just wanna stay home and finish my mod and start with a 360 mod
Anyway, thought you guys might like to know what you store all your stuffs on

Don't know if this will work but Paragon Partition Manager 5.5 personal version supports FATx.
It's a data recovery package, and should also be able to format to FATx.
Also you could try a Laptop SATA drive in an external enclosure (the USB powered ones) hooked up to the usb port.
If the drive is RAW the console might pick it up as a unformatted memory card and try and format it....
....maybe.....

I found TestDisk a while back after one of my drives decided to go corrupt (again ).
It's called TestDisk and now sports the ability to create XBox partitions (or MBT or MBR... been a long night... )
Hope this helps.
