I'm assuming you want to over-clock your CPU?

I don't know how good the AMD CPUs are for over-clocking. I also have one, I use the stock cooler that came with the CPU.

There has been a few discussions regarding coolers lately, if memmory serves me correct the following was rated about the best in terms of efficiency and value: Thermalright ultra 120
Thermalright 90
Zalman 9700

Hope I got the names right

I have the stock cooling on and I clocked the cpu to 3.4Ghz and it wasn't running okay I can't remember the temps. I would just like my system to be cooler that it is now.

Like was said, ThermalRight or Zalman. I'm using a Gigabyte cooler and I feel it's not doing the job. My cpu idles at 30deg

AS long as it's under 60 degrees you're still good, and ramping it up to that frequency on stock cooling is impressive, with impressive temps.

A personal favorite of mine has been the Zalman 9700 - NT, been hankering to get one for a while now. Performance it's right up there, but also I personally rate it aesthetically. You really get some ugly - assed or plain weird - looking coolers!

If your taking a look at a cheaper option , try get hold of a AC Freezer 64 Pro, Coolermaster Hyper tx.

I know prophecy are busy selling an AC on special atm, u can prolly get it for about 300/350.

The Coolermaster Hyper TX is cheap and works good on a intel. I didnt test on a AMD. MY friend Intel CPU temperature is 28 - 33. So far i can remember.

Damn! 30degrees on your cpu?? That is far out! when I used the stock cooler that I got with my 6000+, the idle temps used to be around 46. I got myself the ASUS Silent Knight AL and it cooled the cpu down to about 39 at idle. Maybe I should re-look my cooler seating..... but then again, the ASUS cooler has this smart fan thingy. The cooler runs like at 400RPM when the pc idles, but when I play a game, it bumps the rpm up to about 2500.
