Top Gear Trouble comes to Durban

If you watch Top Gear, you will know that they ***** consistently about the M4 bus lane.

So guess what???>>>

Durban municipality has decided that what sucks in Europe will just make all the motorists in Durban smile from ear to ear, we now have a new bus and taxi lane.

But the fun doesn't stop there...

Guess which side the lane is... you guessed it, on the outside. so a bus/taxi full of people now has to cross 2 lanes of traffic, including the fast lane (and in Durban if you do anything less than 140 its not appreciated.) Oh and the fun just continues because the bus lane runs up a hill.

We have had this rubbish in Cape Town for some years now, it gets extended all the time. It is in action from 05:30 to 09:00 every weekday, also in the outside lane. On the N2 we have 19 cameras along the route and they dish out R400 rand fines if a car is picked up in the lane. So we have a total jam on all the lanes except the taxi lane which zooms along merrily.

what realy cheeses me off is that they made it into the right hand side lane - and knowing that these idiots stop on the freeway to just drop off passesngers now they have to go across to stop - thus causing even more pooh as they do so

the government is even more stupid than was initially thought - they dont even have the brains to make our roads work decently - its a total screw-up

all forms of government in this country are a total screw-up - so its not surprising - but it is irritating cos now we need to find alternative routes - and those are gonna be busy cos word is now gonna spread like wildfire about the short-cuts to where you want to go - so the freeway ive always avoided cos it was so busy will probably now become the quitest route - but to use it you have to wade through the busses and taxi's

stupid moronic city council - they just dont want us to have cars - but they frigging drive around in expensive stuff that they bought with our rates money - which im sure you are hearing a lot about too - idiots are valuing double garages as worth millions
