LOL DR you're nuts dude
Anyway, i've decided that a dark grey colour scheme would be best. Thanks for all the input guys!
Update!!
Okay, this isn't much of an update, but i've got one or two things to share
A nice little package arrived from Honk Kong:
Included in this package were the following:
A set of Blue Talismoon rear fans:
Compared to the stock fans:
A new fan duct:
Compared to the stock fan duct:
Some LEDs:
(yes, i know, i could have made those myself. But i'm lazy, and they were cheap )
And lastly, the replacement cover for my DVD drive:
The bummer about the DVD drive cover is that it requires me to tear open my original cover for the little balancing goodie:
Which is then held in place with this:
I dunno if i'm gonna keep that piece though. I might make my own one...
Anyway, stock fan:
New fan:
Fan duct in place, and testing:
I then also wired up the new LEDs. All power from the bottom of the motherboard:
I ALSO changed the LEDs on the ROL, from green to blue:
I then threw it all together just for a quick test to see how it looks:
Tomorrow i'm gonna go get some paint. Can't wait to finish this baby

On a side note: You need to have a look at the dust gathering on that one IC (chip as some people call it) Those pins are way to clogged with dust particles to be good for that IC. Get a filter or something on those fans mate! 8O
I can't filter the fans because the fans EXTRACT

I will definately assist with the modding process. I've always had an interest ... just never the guts to start from scratch!

Ettienne, I want to know if you could do me a little favor. You have all the neccesary tools for opening your xbox, thus I would like you to measure something for me (or even guess).
The space between the XBOX cover and the heatsink, how big is that, also the Dimensions of the heatsink, even if it is guessed.
I opened my box, but then realized (the idiot that I am) that I need those H8 and H6 screwdriver thingies. So I will see what I can do with my XBOX this coming vacation of 10 days.
Also, could you say if there is a way to make my xbox NOT scratch my games??
Thanks dude!!

Hmmm... i don't know the EXACT dimension, but it's pretty small. Like a few mm, why?DarkRanger wrote:The space between the XBOX cover and the heatsink, how big is that, also the Dimensions of the heatsink, even if it is guessed.

Certainly. Probably smaller than 5mm by the looks of things. You're definitely not gonna fit a fan in there (assuming that's what you need the 25mm for, considering a fan's width is 25mm )DarkRanger wrote:a few mm... Smaller than 25mm??

You're right. If you could get a fan on top of that cooler, life would be better and we'd have world peace.... but it's impossibleDarkRanger wrote:Coz My guess is that if you will be able to fit a fan somewhere that sucks air in, the xbox might run a slight bit cooler...
The next bext thing is to put a fan NEXT to it, on the side closest to the FRONT of the console, not the rear. Put a fan blowing air in there, and that air will help the rear fans, creating some added airflow through the CPU cooler
Many guys have done this. It generally looks REALLY bad, but it works
