I'm not getting past the stage where you install Bin utils and GCC.

LFS is for people who want to be hardcore linux gurus and have patience the size of everest....not mention plenty of bandwidth! You may appreciate it afterwards though!

Well....why not give it a go?
What do we have to lose other than time, hair and bandwidth?

What I should have said is that one obviously needs to be in a position where one can afford to download a fair amount of data.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I have not mad myself much clearer......
