MS Windows goes sideways.

Post by Uncle_Steve »

Hi guys, tough one for you today, one of my clients called in just now and says that she was working on a spreadsheet in Excel 2003, she was highlighting more then one cell at the same time, so she was pressing ctrl & alt (according to her) and apparently her screen orientation has changed and everything is now on the left/right of her screen! I have never heard of this and it's confusing me. Can anyone out there help? Apparently even the text runs vertically now instead of the usual horizontal way.....Damn....

Cheers

she pressed a hot key to change the display direction, she obviously has a graphics card installed. she needs to go into her gfx cards settings, as im not sure of the actual shortcut key, and change it there.

the reason for this is, for those who twist their monitors to look like a a4 page infront of them instead of one lying on its side, if you get how i mean.
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)

Press CTRL + ALT + "Arrow key down", this will turn the screen to the correct position, then after that disable the hotkeys under the gfx properties.
