Mod my box...
Mod my box...
hello... damn im posting alot nowadays...
anyways...
im gonna mod my chassis...
thats why i have requsted the sigs etc, and also the fan controller.
now, this is what it looks like at the mo...
on the outside at least!
front
remember, the zalman zm-mfc2 fan controller is going underneath the dvd drive...
top n side
now, i want to colour the panels... would it be better if i just bought green plexi, or would it work better to have a "see through" vinyl sticker made?

Get the green perspex man, its AWSOME! you wont regret it, its kinda like a "Toxic fluroesent Green" apparently it looks REALLY madd: if you bevel the edges at 45' & even throw a UV CCFL in, but hey thats just IMO lol... if you want the "Expert opinion" your going to have to wait for Dae (the local plexi fetish fiend) to post as im sure he soon will
good luck with ur mod man
Rob~!

Wag draai daai brieke so bietjie vas eers...
Which part of the case do you want to put the most emphasis on? The windows? or the internals? Or the internals with a bit of the outside?
Reason I am asking is as follows: Too much light on the inside and you will emphasize the light in your case, too little and it looks k@k. Too much light also shows everyone the crap job you did with the cabling but also detracts any outside improvements on your case because you can't see them. Also with too much green light on the plexi you will make the plexi "glow" too much and not see anything inside.
Just first plan what you want to do properly and make sure you can adjust the lighting brightness inside your case.
MY suggestion: Use a natural colour perspex with a purple sheen. Replace the green CCFL's with white ones, Make all your cables green and tie them down.
OR
Go with the green plexi but paint your case on the inside ALL BLACK with a glossy finish. Then do what you plan on doing. The Grey really does look 2nd hand.
Enjoy the weekend
ps: I just saw the pics. Hide those CCFL's...

k, will do some decision making later... gotta go work now
uh... to be quite honest, the ccfls got put where they are, coz there isnt space ANYWHERE else... thats why the tt lanbox would be SO aewsome to have..
its a little bigger than mine, and DEFINATELY has the space to put the ccfls next to the mobo!
either way, please feel free to make suggestions / crit etc!
Have a good weekend guys!

k, this is from my other thread...even the avvie part... i had a brain storm earlier on...
just the PҒ in the flames...
(coz... iwant to be able to elarge it to sandblast the design or etch the design into my top window! i think that will look pretty awesome!)
even the sig...
i'd like it high def so i can print it nicely onto a sticker for the top half of my right side panel!
this should give you an idea of what i want?!
also, i would like my pc to glow! i just LOVE the green coming from the black!
will post pics now to give a better idea
top idea...
left... whats gonna happen...
right...
what id like to do.
with the top, im gonna get a vinyl made, with the p and the f cut out of the vinyl to see the green plexi.
the left, i would like the green plexi to again be etched (or something, will how the costs work...)
what you see as well is that there are vertical and horizontal slats...
these are for airflow to the graphics card and psu.
the fan cutout is for the 80mm fan im gonna mount in there.
with the right, easy stuff, green plexi, with my sig printed on vinyl to stick to it.
slats for airflow to cpu...
also, same idea as the top, to have my name cut out of the vinyl to see the green plexi!

I like the idea you have here. Especially the wavy green...it is almost like an acid flashback...(uuuh-forget I said that)
It would be extra special if you could manage to make it appear to be moving like a kind of plasma.
Regarding the perspex and luminesance you wish to attain...same with same. Green perspex deserves a clear green LED. This would accent whichever bevel edges you would like to highlight, without actually lighting up the entire panel as UV would do. If you decide to etch the panel, the green LED would also be a more effective aid...and a bonus is that you can hide LEDs much easier than CCFLs.

the pen is mighter than the sword, but the word is always final
@ dae... ouch...
but yeah, you're the plexi king, so you would know better
hmmm... will see what i can do though, maybe i can find some thats being tossed as scrap or something...
@ lithe joint...
dude.. i REALLY like that idea of a type moving plasma...
im sure something like that is possible...
reminds me of "If you can dream it.. blah blah blah" you all know the rest! lol
hmmm, i've seen some kind of laser light being sold by naked it?
maybe a couple of those in some strategic areas?
hmmm... if i dont come right with the plexi...
i have seen a type of see through vinyl on car windows...
would that work?
or, maybe i should buy some window tint?
so many ideas, and not enough money to try them all out!
so yeah... advice is appreciated!
thanks again!

hmmm... i been thinking...
what if...
or am i being too difficult again?
please let me know...
what if...
- i use normal clear plexi
- get it sandblasted or etched with my design
- get it tinted in (acid) green (@Dae, could you link me with a pic what it looks like please?)
- get it laser cut to my specs with all circles and slats cut out
or am i being too difficult again?
please let me know...
Yes you are being difficult. I haven't attempted this yet but try the following:
Take clear plexi, sand it with a 600 grit sanding paper, go into your mom's kitchen and acquire the green food colouring. Pour it over the sanded area. Rinse the area with clean water and see if it stays green. If it does let us know, if not, sorry I wasted your time.
