Just open synaptic and search for beryl-manager and install that. There are a lot of settings to tweak, but I think you'll have to download some extra plugins if you want those exploding windows.

If you're using compiz, you can download gnome-compiz-manager, There is another settings manager for compiz, but I can't remember the name.

On the topic of Beryl, I'm having trouble getting it running.

I'm running Fedora Core 6 (the one that came on the PCF cover disk a while back).

Whenever I try to run beryl-manager, the system crashes and it kicks me back to the login screen.

can anyone please help me on this matter?

EDIT: btw, I'm using the KDE desktop enviroment

sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the following line for the latest beryl (Both i386&64 bit)

deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org feisty main

Save file and exit

Copy the key file using the following command

wget http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/root@lupine.me.uk.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

Now you need to update the source list using the following command

Install Latest nvidia drivers in Ubuntu Feisty

I followed the exact same guide a couple weeks ago.

I love Beryl, the effects are easy to customize, etc.
I just get one prob on my 8800GTS. All the Windows go black, and sometimes the desktop. I just revert back to the default Gnome Window Manager from the drop-down menu.

It's slightly buggy, but worth it!

I\m not sure, but I think it's designed for GNOME (which I prefer anyway).

Beryl works on Kde, I an using it right now

Darkstar I dont know what you have done so I am going step by step

In sysinfo does it say you have 3D acceleration turned on

have you turned on xgl.

If you login to kde do you see a windows decoration other then Kde's.

Try running beryl-settings and turning off as much plugins and effects as you can

I had a problem where I uninstalled some stuff and beryl stopped working so I had to reinstall Linux to get beryl up and running again

running : Opensuse 10.2 kde
card : Ati Radeon 9550

OMW!!! That looks amazing. Linux is years ahead of Windows

I prefer Ubuntu, but Fedora 7 is looking nice... too bad you have to pay to order it.

Now everybody wants to switch to Linux :)
