Apple - Where to buy?

Post by hooloovoo »

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy Apple computers?
I (obviously) need good prices and I've only seen stuff for over R10 000.
Please do tell.

www.zastore.co.za

you can get the eMac Combo drive (cdrw and dvd rom) at about R7600 or the superdrive (dvdram and cdrw) for about R10000
bot have the following specs
1.25Ghz PowerPC G4 Proc.
256Megs RAM
10/100 Base-T Ethernet and 56k internal modem
Two FireWire and three USB ports
Mac OSX v10.3 'Panther' (about the nicest OS you will ever meet)
17" flat CRT 1280x960

it also comes with this stuff as well as many more apps
eMac Software Collection
Every eMac comes loaded with top-notch software — including AppleWorks 6 to keep you productive, World Book Encyclopedia to tell you what you need to know about practically everything, Sound Studio for easy digital audio editing. And for those times when you just want to have fun, eMac also includes Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Deimos Rising, and Mac OS X Chess.

Also has general internet stuff like a browser mail client etc.

and a pretty good built in sound system although you can plug in other speakers
Tex was taken so Default it is....

Blistering 3D effects
To power eMac’s brilliant CRT, we’ve included an ATI Radeon 9200 graphics processor with 32MB of dedicated Double Data Rate (DDR) video memory. The Radeon processor offers dazzling 2D, 3D and video performance, a feature you’ll really appreciate when editing footage in iMovie or while playing Unreal Tournament 2004.
(Taken from zastore.co.za)

No offence to Apple but the Radeon 9200 isn't as great as they make it out in the above statement. In fact, it's a pretty average card. It's the cheapest of the Radeon line...

They should've rather gone with a Radeon 9600XT or better.

But then again, I don't know anything about Apple, so I'll just keep quiet now...

(No offence to any eMac owners.)
