well, thanks for the grim outlook on my excitement :D , but i'll be honest, after installing vista and dx10 and then installing the demo, i haven't actually seen a framerate drop, but yet i've seen a visual improvement.
plus i've downloaded the TweakGuides for Crysis so I'll go through that and change settings accordingly

On medium, it looks amazing, if you can run it on medium, buy it.

Yes, everything is enabled in medium (physics, non static objects ect.). Only thing is the detail.

Also, this is a Crysis thread people, Not GOW, or COD 4...

DX10, useless, honoustly, dont be an idiot and use it, its just not worth the lag.

Let's see, I have a 8800 GTS 320 right. I run on Vista DX9 on high: average 20-25 fps.

I then run DX10, high, and look, whats this 13 to 20 fps.

It's as clear as day, same goes for World In Conflict.

I am sorry, but I dont see anyone playing with DX10 and gaining an advantage, no sir...

Edit: at 1024x768 resolution.

I have a 8800GT now and cant run the game on high. Instead I have to customize my setting between a high/medium mixture.

I play games at 1680x1050 and not the old 1024x768 standard. As for xp vs vista I am still on the more stable xp.

I have played multiplayer.

Multiplayer on Crysis is extremely fun, but because of SGS's pathetic moderator, it isnt even getting close to it's true potential.

Here is some good ways to sort of the multiplayer issues until a patch is released:

You can't play on high? :?

I also have to play at 1680 x 1050, and since getting my 8800GT I can now play the game on high perfectly. I wasn't able to play under that resolution with my 8800GTS.

What drivers are you using?

I am sitting with the same problem though...

I have the 8800GTS 320MB, and if I want to play on 1680 x 1050, My settings have to be on Medium...

Try lowering your resolution to 1290 x 900. It's one of those weird resolutions. I was able to play ok everything high.

Yea, I really thought the 8800gts 320 would run Crysis better, but all is well for me :D.

just a quick question, by why dont you use FRAPS to take ingame shots and videos? they are by far better quality and i would feel easier to deal with... Just a question... :|

This games graphics are mental. I mean, they did it so well, that I can swear I have seen shadows in real life look almost EXACTLY like the ones in Crysis. Also the volumetric clouds, same, wake up early in the morning at look at the clouds, look exactly like the first mission when you look at the clouds.

This game was pretty much meant to show gaming in a new light, and they passed with flying colours :D.

Your screenshots are doing the game injustice by taking a photo of your lcd. I feel the game doesnt pass with flying colours. Yes by far one of the most detailed games to date but unable to run on high/very high detail even at 1680x1050 which is fast becoming the standard since people are going for widescreens just doesnt seem right.

There is something like over detailing and I feel that crysis does it in some parts. Like when you come out of a shadow and look at the sky the sudden brightness. Sure it seems real but it is horribly disterbing in the game itself. And post processing effects... I want a clear crisp game not a heavy overdraw that looks like a smudge.

But on positive side the water looks oh so attractive and refreshing I almost want to jump into my screen.

BTW I am on the stage after you get out of the alien structure, the one after you got stranded in the mountain. Those aliens looks pretty cool and the low gravity was a nice change. I feel that they wasted a bit going from mercs to aliens. The game has a heavy FarCry feel to it. And similarity to them are very clear.

It's a beautiful game. Best looking I'd say. I've baan playing it on high settings since the start. Now at the mining area I have encountered terrible lag and system slowdown, which forced a drop to medium settings. I first thought it was a temp problem but as soon as I dropped the settings it was fine. After going back to high it lagged again. Anyone have a lagging experience in the same area of the game?

Its because you have a GTS 320, unfortunately. If it lags there, its going to be a slideshow near the end.

Bla!!! I hate slideshows!! Lol. I think it's time for 8800GTS 512mb!!!! I wish!

Ok, but how come it was relatively smooth up to that part? Lol.

Um, I clocked the game on high, only lag I got was when I was in the snow place, which is very normal.

Thats why I decided to stick with a nice quality 19" lcd. 22" is too much of a cost when it comes to performance.

Well, since I've been reading about 8800GTS 320MB struggling at 1680 x 1050, anyone playing with an GTS 640MB at that resolution, and how does it run?

I'm hoping to grab a 22" LCD Wide this Xmas, so I was interested in the performance.
