Sort of. I learnt how to open the config.big and ini.big files in Ea sports games. In my case I am modifying the config.big files of Fifa Manager 08 to improve the 3d match. No its not illegal to do it. They provided the tool that is used to open it and you can change the 3d match settings at will as long as you keep the comments etc written and only change variables and don't try sell it as your own work.
