My first attempt at modding

Post by weasel »

I'm fairly new to modding, so please be gentle.

This is the very first mod I've ever done. Not as grand as the ones I've seen on this site and in magazines so far, I guess it's a fairly good start right? Unfortuanotly I don't have any "before" pics ... only the results.

What I did:
1. Cut a hole in the side panel and installed the perspex window and golden trimming
2. Installed a blue Cold Cathode Tube in the bottom of the case
3. Installed a 3 red LED lights, shining "into" the perspex
4. Installed a Zalman 9500 CPU cooler
5. Installed a Orbiter HDD cooler
6. Installed some Blue LED Fans
7. Installed Perspex case feet, with a blue LED light in each

Please excuse the quality of the picture, it was take with my cellphone at night time. Will try to do some better photos and upload them next week. Click on the thumbnail for bigger image.

And in the dark it looks like this :

HATE those cases, but as far as they go that's the best one I've seen so far.

Nice dude.

Perhaps you want to swap? lol

My father-in-law to be cracked my perspex side panel window by accidentally kneeling on it. Not too impressed, but luckily it didn't damage the LED fan attached to it. But still have a nice big crack running the length across it, visible for all to see lol. :D

Thanks for all the comments, guys. I'll be working on the case some more over the weekend. Maybe doing a LED mod on the DVD-RW (got a nice guide from Dae-ja-voo, thanks man) and tidying up the cable on the inside of the case.

Just get yourself some plexi from Maizey Plastics and replace the window.

No, it's a etched sticker I bought from ModShop

Looks pretty good. Nice job. I really like the lightened feet.

And, as far as camera phone photos go, those are a lot better than some we've seen!
