Are Barton Cores @default unlocked

Are Barton Cores @default unlocked

Hey everyone, anyone. I just want to know if AthlonXP Barton Cores are already unlocked? A couple of weeks ago i was playing around with my clock multiplies and i got it to go lower and higher in the bios. So i set my FSB to 200MHz (400Mhz DDR) and my clock multiplier to 11x and i got my 2500+ cpu to run at 3200+. Luckily its winter so my temps stay around 48C. Anyone else have a barton cpu who can try something?
Athlon XP 2500+ @ 3200+
FSB: 400MHz
Kingston 2x512MB DDR400 Dual Channel
Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB DDR
MSI K7N2Delta-L N-Force2 M/B

the ones before week 40 of 2003 are unlocked whilst 99% of those after are locked - so you will find the odd unlocked one here or there

you will need to check your stepping to confirm though but im sure yours is pre week 40

Lucky me. OK now i need to know why i cant use a program like cpuidle or any other software cooling product. In CPUidle i cannot select C2 cooling mode. (the hlt command). Wazzup wit that?
