Performance Problem
Recently my dad got us a new PC. Its a AMD 2800+ XP, 512-MB DDR 400 and a Gainward GeForce FX 5600 XT.
But I get scores that are unexpectedly low.
Like with UT2004 in the Asbestos Dethmatch level I get like 45-80fps on 800x600 32-bit (Full Game Settings)
Is it supposed to run this slow or is there something wrong? I think it might be that FX card!
EDIT : I do have the latest drivers, BIOS flashes, etc.

No, not really, the FX5600 is sometimes a little lower in terms of performance, and sometimes just barely on par with the Geforce 4ti series.Last-Attacker wrote:How can it be? Shouldn't it run faster? I mean shouldn't I get like a 3DMark2001 score of 10,000 or something. Isn't the FX5600 faster than the GeForce 4Ti?

Thats mighty impressive, I though the 8500 score was in the region of 7500-8000 in 3d Mark 2001, and thats the 128 mb version. 8O By how much have you overclocked your card...JEdiWaNNaBE wrote:That score sounds a bit low. I get about 60fps on the same map and settings, I also get about 9600 in 3dmark 2001 and my pc is not nearly as good, it's a AMD 2000+ @2.0Ghz, 512Mb DDR-400 and a No name brand ATi Radeon 8500 64Mb. I am running this on the Abit NF7-S which might help a bit
