FSBs

Post by ZeekY »

I have noticed that motherboards these days are coming out with 500mhz FSBs. Intel chips run on these boards.
<BR>But AMD is still sitting at the 266mhz FSB stage.
<BR>Why is this?
<BR>I am an AMD fan as it is and I would like to know why they are still there and how does it affect the performace. <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_confused.gif">

AMD Have got 333mhz motherboards, I think, but the best thing is that the new AMD hammer which is about to brought out will run a heck of a lot faster, it will probably have a higher FSB but they say that the best is that it will run on 64 bit. Intel runs on 32 bit but if you know about chips then you will know that 64 is not twice as fast as 32, it is faster than two times.

<BR>BTW I also like AMD, they rule <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_smile.gif"> <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_smile.gif"> <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif"> <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif">
