man that guy came up with some wikid (:P) ideas on the placement of things...
that water temp measure was ingenious...
and that mobo and pci covers are looking freakin' awesome...
the oke that started that has really seen it become quite a trend...
so what, that ARALDITE is a glue for metal to metal I assume?
must remember that for the stealthy stuff...
could see right, how was those stereo's in his PCI cover wired?
was it 4 to one of those modular plugs, and then 4 to the second?
was those modulars leading to those modulars he put on the PSU?

Very nice, not much a fan of the whole motherboard cover as i see motherboards as works of arts themselves, also with modding being a performance oriantated thing covering things result in more heat. But non the less its very classy and sleek inside.
Swiftech components, seems everyone uses swiftech

Hmmm.... i've been modding for ages and i've never known this.... i always thought that modding was about aesthetics, looks, appearance, and if performance was improved in the process, it was a bonus...Skidd wrote:also with modding being a performance oriantated thing

Well, PC modding generally goes around making your PC look good. Sometimes it involves improving performance, but the point of case modding is making your case look betterSkidd wrote:Like I said in my thread DJV, Im coming from a Car moding scene and most of the time its mods to improve performance while still looking good in the process.
That is a balance very few PC modding has found.

no, the point of modding is to customise the piece of equipment to how you want it. If you want to mod it for performance, then you have done a performance mod. If you want to mod it for looks, its an asthetics mod.
You cannot put a label on 'modding' It is an art, and there are various forms. The underlying reason to mod should be to improve performance IMHO, and at the same time, to make the piece of equipment individual, with the creators personal touch to it.
No one should be 'winning' but we should be giving each other advice and encouragement, and most of all, learn from each others posts and information we bring as individuals.

Ahh Some very wise words there... :bigups:haja wrote:no, the point of modding is to customise the piece of equipment to how you want it. If you want to mod it for performance, then you have done a performance mod. If you want to mod it for looks, its an asthetics mod.

The ORIGINAL CASE MODDERS of back in the day (about 10 years back)
they actually put leds in they're fans and built they're own controllers did everything from scratch...
i mean yeah dae ur mod is schweet ! and also all other mods some look schweet!
but so hard to find a mod started from scratch where the modder actually made his own products and didn't buy it pre-made...
as i sayd some people have some schweet mods really and yes i suck at modding
il try and look fore some pics on old mods which made a differenc ein the indsutry of all modders

The way I see modding is as follows: You make your box look good, then you make your machine perform better. And it doesn't matter which you do because it is still modding. modding <- modifying. So you make changes and it counts as modding, which means we can see cool or crap stuff being done You do what you feel will look and perform best. There is no set of rules (except that you shouldn't use TT stuff) which one can follow.
lol
