I would be surprised if the Bulls pulled of a win in Durbs... pleasantly surprised...

Was a good game, i think the Lions actually could have won that. Silly mistakes, and a few bad decisions by the ref where disappointing.

Most of the Waratahs lineouts where skew, ref called one. :/

ahh well,

Overall i think the Lions performed well. Going to be an interesting super14 season.

Stormers 9
Cheetahs 28

As for the argument of the best SA team, it will be the same as last year.
GO BULLS

Kronos is right you don't play rugby on paper.

I'm not one of those people that will support any SA team, my motto has always been: I will support any team that plays against the Stormers(Problems.....oops sorry Province). But if they are the only SA team in the semi's, then I'll have to  .

Hahaha! :D

Well, Again, I didn't get the score, but I got the victory.

Sharks 17 vs Bulls 3
Not a pretty Game, but a victory for the sharks None the less.
Fortunately, the Bulls played crap today.

I also missed the prediction on the Reds vs Hurricanes game:

Reds 25 vs Hurricanes 16

I guess you can't get them all, but so far 4 out of 6 isn't that bad.

Make that 5 out of 7, 'cause there's no way the Stormers are going to survive. ;)

:x :stupid: Looks like yours was the True Seer after all, Kronos
Not the most attractive of games, I thought: too many errors.

Bulls:3 Sharks:17

Sharks scored two tries to none from the bumbling Bulls.

PS. It looks like last year's underdogs (Reds, and Blues) are to be watched this year.

Oh noes Bulls! It sucks too loose... it sucks even worse to play that poorly and loose...

Oh, well... hopefully that is the wake-up call... but both the Sharks and the Bulls will have to pick up their games if they want to stay away from the bottom of the log...

I agree!
It was a some of the worst rugby I've seen for a long time!!
For professional sportsman the amount of errors were shocking!

The only good thing about it all was my prediction of the score in Bloem!
I was out by only one point!

I just want to get my prediction in for the first game, before it's too late.

Chiefs 25 vs Hurricanes 15
Chiefs one win already, and home ground advantage, and the hurricanes on tour, and having lost the first game, the Chiefs will take this one.

Friday, 9 February

Chiefs vs Hurricanes (8.35am)
Waikato Stadium, Hamilton

The Hurricanes hardly looked like last year's finalists, and many feel that without their All Blacks they are a lost cause in the early rounds. I find that hard to agree with, and the recall of Tana Umaga at centre, along with the captaincy, will make a big difference in a 'Canes side in need of direction. The Chiefs have improved markedly since the start of the Super competitions, but there is still the aura of a team full of grunt without heaps of class.

Our prediction: Hurricanes by 12

Stormers vs Force (6pm)
Newlands, Cape Town

Long-suffering Stormers fans were made to suffer a little longer after the debacle against the Cheetahs last weekend, while the Western Force did not live up to expectations against the Highlanders — even with their new acquisition Matt Giteau. Both teams will be looking to bounce back, but it is a difficult one to call. Stormers skipper Luke Watson talked a good game last week, but out on the park it was somewhat different. I said before the competition that the Springboks could challenge his authority, and I hope I am wrong, but last weekend my suspicions grew… Jean de Villiers seems intent on searching for intercepts, while Selborne Boome was on the field only in name. The Stormers have it on paper, but it will not be easy to hold off the Force.

Our prediction: Stormers by five.

Sharks vs Waratahs (8.05pm)
Absa Stadium, Durban

The Sharks were the South African team of the weekend with a great victory over the Bulls and while the Waratahs are considered one of the favourites, there is no reason why the SA side cannot secure another win this weekend. Flyhalf Butch James is showing he is more mature than ever before, while Percy Montgomery emerged from his break a different player than the jaded shell of last season. Add some youthful exuberance cultivated by willy Muir and it seems exciting times lie ahead for the Sharks. The 'Tahs will by no means be an easy prospect as they are packed with big names — Phil Waugh and Lote Tuqiri to name but two — but they have struggled in SA before and the Sharks will offer far more than the Lions last weekend.

Our prediction: Sharks by seven.

Saturday, 10 February

Crusaders vs Reds (8.35am)
Jade Stadium, Christchurch

The Reds arguably pulled off the shock of the opening round with their win over the Hurricanes, but I am not convinced this is a sign of things to come. The Queenslanders have definitely improved under the guidance of Eddie Jones, but the defending champs will definitely give them more of a test at Jade Stadium. The Crusaders did not look the business against the Blues last week, but Robbie Deans has made some interesting changes to the backline and the good money is on the hosts running out the winners on Saturday.

Our prediction: Crusaders by 10.

Brumbies vs Blues (10.40am)
Canberra Stadium, Canberra

Sure, it is to early to tell with only one round gone, but on last week's form, the Blues look like the team to beat this year, although the Aucklanders are notoriously inconsistent — so they may just blow cold on the day. But going on their victory over the Crusaders, the Brumbies will be up against it. Counting in the Australians' favour — along with hometown advantage — is the return of flyhalf Stephen Larkham, but that may be offset by the likely loss of skipper Stirling Mortlock with concussion.

Our prediction: Blues by 7.

Bulls vs Cheetahs (5pm)
Loftus Versveld, Pretoria

For SA fans the battle at Loftus will be the highlight of the weekend. The two leading teams in South Africa over the past two seasons are always up for it when they meet, and the one man who will be watching through his fingers will be Springbok coach Jake White… Cheetahs coach Rassie Eramus has included Bok flanker Kabamba Floors for the match, which indicates he will be looking to beat the Bulls with speed at the breakdown and across the park. Floors, of course, gives nothing away in the contact situations either, and he generally excels against the Bulls. The hosts will be banking on their fans to lend a hand, and while it is true the Bulls always lift their game at home, judging on last week's performance they will need to lift it considerably to thwart Erasmus' team. The Cheetahs are the form team going into this match, and that sways us in their favour…

Our prediction: Cheetahs by 10.

Lions vs Highlanders (7.10pm)
Ellis Park, Johannesburg

The Highlanders won on the road last week, while the Lions were defeated at home… so what tips the scales in favour of the Lions? Well, on performances the Lions, going down to the Waratahs, looked more dangerous than the Highlanders did beating the Force. In fact, the Kiwis should count themselves lucky that they won at all. They looked sterile on attack and brittle on defence — the Force lost last week, they were not beaten. The Lions have nothing to lose either, nobody expects them to win, while coach Eugene Eloff is showing admirable trust in his young charges and they are keen to repay the faith. The Lions showed in the latter stages of last season's Currie Cup just how dangerous they are, and this weekend they will emerge the victors.

Our prediction: Lions by 5.

Lazy B@stard  Make your own predictions.

Here are the rest for this weekend:

Stormers 20 vs Force 12

Sharks 21 vs Waratahs 17
A tough game for the sharks. Even with home ground advantage, and a victory under the belt, the Waratahs are not to be trifled with.

Crusaders 17 vs Reds 11
Closer game than I would have thought before last weeks round. But the reds look much better this year. However, still not good enough to beat the Crusaders at Christchurch

Brumbies 23 vs Blues 21

Bulls 17 vs Cheetahs 27

Lions 16 vs Highlanders 23

Well, The Chiefs vs Hurricanes prediction was wrong.
Chiefs 32 vs Hurricanes 39
6 To go.

Much as it pains me to do so, I agree that a Cheetahs victory over the Bulls seems likely.

Bulls 13 vs Cheetahs 21

Lions 18 vs Highlanders 13

Sharks 15 vs Waratahs 23
(I think that the Waratahs are going to put on a superb performance, after getting a tiny bit of a shock from the lions last weekend, comparing last years score of 50-3. I also feel that the sharks are over the moon regarding their victory last weekend, and will come into the game a bit over confident. Which in turn will have some of the youngsters do silly things. Will be a good game of rugby, provided the field stays dry.)

ADDED: Stormers 22 vs Western Force 9

Well nobody got last weekend's score correct, so the 256mb flash drive is still up for grabs.

My prediction for this weekend is:

Stormers: 27
Western Force: 14

Come on guys, I want to give the flash drive away!!!
