MP3 player copy issue

Post by rusty3280 »

Hi there,

Is there anybody that can help me solve the problem I have with my mp3 player?

I bought a mp3 player (Legend Jazz 256mb) last month. When I connect the player to my laptop it picks it up and shows it as my F: drive in my computer. If I however want to copy some legit mp3 songs to the player it says "Cannot copy *****.mp3, cannot find file or destination drive, please make sure that the path you specified is correct" or something to that effect.

The mp3 player uses a SD card. I plugged the player into my office pc and it works perfectly.

My specs is a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows XP home pre-installed.

I've tried to rollback the driver and also update the driver, but that still didnt solve my problem. Ive uninstalled the player and restarted the laptop and plugged the player in again. Windows picked it up immediately as before and installed the drivers. But I still get the same problem as before.

Ive email Legend, but they havent responded at all, and that was more than 3 weeks ago already.

Please help!!

Kind regards

Andre

1. Which process do you follow to copy the files ?
2. Which program do you use to "rip" the mp3's ?
3. Can you copy other files to the drive ie. jpeg ?
3a. If you can't - drive might be faulty ?
3b. If you can, look at the program u using to rip - is it converting the files and then protecting them ?

does the player have a physical write protect toggle?...

this message typically occurs around write protection... if it does have a toggle, and you're sure the toggle is correctly positioned, the USB controller could be at fault here... i would push the query through to the laptop support guys before trying to get a response from legend folks...
