I scanned over the quick-links on the left... and saw Project: Blue Moon Rising {56K warning}.
That we need to post 56k warnings is just frikken unbielivable in this day and age. 8O 8O
Most houses newly build in most states in the US and NZ, UK, most Eu countries as well as Au, have some sort of broadband i-net connection pre-installed. It's like water and electricity, it comes standard. We are so so so behind it's just not real.

well TBH i dont know why da_ripper posted his topic with a 56k warning - those pics of his are really small - even my phone gives bigger pics
but i agree that we are totally behind in terms of broadband - and thats due to prohibitive costing and pricing ie greed from telkom

Asus Z68-V Pro/Gen3, i5-3570k, 16GB Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1600, Gigabyte Radeon HD6970 OC graphics card, Corsair H100 liquid cpu cooling, Lite-on Blu-ray burner, Western Digital Raptor X HDD, Gigabyte Sumo 5115 modded case, Samsung P2770 monitor
Agree, its sad. What is very sad is that we have been waiting for 5 months for telkom to come and install a telephone line and adsl in the new house we built. I doubt they will ever come to do the installation, even though we have been on their case all the time.
So now I just go wireless. Telkom can gaan le.

Even paranoid people have enemies !
Ill just take that with a pinch of salt. Everyone knows Neotel still have to work off telkom's infrastructure as they need to build their own which is scheduled over a 5 year time spand.Ajay Pandey: Managing director, Neotel Wednesday, 13 December 2006
If a quote like "...pretty much I still maintain the fact that prices could be at least one-third or one-fourth of what they are today." doesn't excite you or put a smile on your face then you're either in a coma and unable to read this or a wealthy Telkom exec with a heartfelt desire for charging the earth for a basic telephone service.
Looks like 2007 is set to be a great year for us, hopefully it isn't a fizzle like the previous six years.. what would be even better is if our communications minister resigned, but we're prepared to take this one step at a time aren't we..

Sheesh damnit this is prob the 1000000000 th one of these threads I have seen. We get it TELKOM is up to dog poop. They have the worts service responce and the most redicilouse rates. They lie steel and cheet. This has been proven over and over again. It has been on Third degree, special assignment and Catre Blanche. They have also been fined . Nothing hlpes. They wil never lower their rates or improve on service. Think of them as parliment. Useless but we have no other !!!
