I scanned over the quick-links on the left... and saw Project: Blue Moon Rising {56K warning}.

That we need to post 56k warnings is just frikken unbielivable in this day and age. 8O 8O
Most houses newly build in most states in the US and NZ, UK, most Eu countries as well as Au, have some sort of broadband i-net connection pre-installed. It's like water and electricity, it comes standard. We are so so so behind it's just not real.

well TBH i dont know why da_ripper posted his topic with a 56k warning - those pics of his are really small - even my phone gives bigger pics

but i agree that we are totally behind in terms of broadband - and thats due to prohibitive costing and pricing ie greed from telkom

Agree, its sad. What is very sad is that we have been waiting for 5 months for telkom to come and install a telephone line and adsl in the new house we built. I doubt they will ever come to do the installation, even though we have been on their case all the time.

So now I just go wireless. Telkom can gaan le.

yes , my plan that i am on is an "old" plan.

The newest plans here are ALL 7.5MB dsl with caps from 500mb to 30GB!!!!!

look at the upload speed on the last one ! An as 1 NZ Dollar +-=R5 the last plan works out to approx R400 !!! plus approx R120 for line rental !!

so all up about R520 ... telkom needs a real wakeup call!

On the website, telkom refers to their 4Mbit as the FASTEST Internet available! That's false advertising.. How fast is the satelites which we use for DSTV? I'm sure Some Provider could allow us to roam with it..

Sainet Would work without Telkom's adsl2 if you could connect it with a HSDPA Data Card no? to send? That could theoretically work, but i doubt we'd be so lucky

Looks like 2007 is set to be a great year for us, hopefully it isn't a fizzle like the previous six years.. what would be even better is if our communications minister resigned, but we're prepared to take this one step at a time aren't we..

Ill just take that with a pinch of salt. Everyone knows Neotel still have to work off telkom's infrastructure as they need to build their own which is scheduled over a 5 year time spand.

Neotel have Tata onboard,they have done brilliant things for communication in India, I have used ther services in India --- Brilliant. In India they have impplemented wireless solutions for home and business users.

Sheesh damnit this is prob the 1000000000 th one of these threads I have seen. We get it TELKOM is up to dog poop. They have the worts service responce and the most redicilouse rates. They lie steel and cheet. This has been proven over and over again. It has been on Third degree, special assignment and Catre Blanche. They have also been fined . Nothing hlpes. They wil never lower their rates or improve on service. Think of them as parliment. Useless but we have no other !!!
