How do I change a PSU fan?

Post by kraven »

I hate noise, and upon inspecting which fans make the most noise in My PC, (there are 3 fans) The PSU came out the noisiest (PTU!)

I have searched meneer Google and have com up with a few guides to changing the PSU fanlink , but does anyone have any experience? could i just buy a silent case fan and use that?
The PSU I am using is a standard ATX 12V 350W that came with the CoolerMaster Cavalier that i got.

Yes, you seal of the air vents and let the water flow directly into the psu

Just buy any case fan that's the same size, usually 80mm. Screw it in place, cut the wires (the originals and the new fan's) and connect the wires. Close your psu put it back and enjoy.

- Remove PSU Fan
- Remove lable at the back of the fan
- 1x squirt "Q-20" and all should be quiet for a while. You will now have enough (quiet) time to save up for a new fan
