X1950XTX - I want!

Post by Spin »

Hey guys,

I'm very interested in ATi's latest offering the X1950XTX.
Do any of you know where I can purchase two of these?

Thanks in advance!

Ooh, thanks -=WiK1d=- :D

One question, I've seen many people run a Radeon X1950 XTX 512MB PCI-E + Radeon X1950 CrossFire setup O_o

Do I need to get two specifically different cards to optimize crossfire efficiency, or will 2x X1950XTX's work just as well or beter?

Thanks again!

Isn't the "Crossfire Edition" card the same as a XTX?

AFAIK you need a X1950 Master Card and a X1950XTX or X1950XT to run Crossfire. Two XTX's won't work

Some more sellers

Yup...Just as I thought...You will need a XTX and a Crossfire Master Card (I don't think there is Master Cards in SA Yet...)

Master Card Left...XTX Right

But in all seriousness...Why don't you wait for the 8800GTX. They are MONSTERS. Will kick the X1950 so hard. And you have a fairly frikken good setup at the moment as far as I can remember.

Ok...so here is the X1950XTX vs the 7950GTX vs the 8800GTX

Image

Core Clock: 650 MHz
Memory Clock: 1000 MHz (2000 DDR)
Memory Bandwidth: 64 GB/sec
Shader Operations: 31200 Operations/sec
Pixel Fill Rate: 10400 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate: 10400 MTexels/sec
Vertex Operations: 1300 MVertices/sec

Image

Core Clock: 500 MHz
Memory Clock: 600 MHz (1200 DDR)
Memory Bandwidth: 76.8 GB/sec
Shader Operations: 24000 Operations/sec
Pixel Fill Rate: 16000 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate: 24000 MTexels/sec
Vertex Operations: 2000 MVertices/sec

There already you can see that the 7950GX2 is better in all factors.

Image

Core clock: 575MHz
Pixel pipelines: 128 @ 1350 MHz
Memory: 768MB DDR3 @ 900 MHz
Memory interface: 384-bit
Memory bandwidth: 86GB/s

JUST LOOK! at that memory bandwidth.

If I were you I'd wait.

Rather a pointless exercise to get 7950GX2 or X1950XTX at this stage esp two of them.
