Free Lindows developer edition

Post by bb_matt »

Today, Lindows is giving away a free download of the Lindows Developer edition and today only.

Here's the skinny :-

http://www.overclockersclub.com/newscom ... le=7570580

There's a download waiting thing - it took me about 1 hour to get my download going.

oh yeah - it's for broadband only really, because it's almost 600meg in size. My work d/l is crusing at a steady 8k and hopefully will speed up to 14k overnight.

If your a modem user, it's not really an option.

I've never tried Lindows, but I owe it to myself for giving it a shot - I'll probably install it as a dual boot on my work machine as i'm happy with slackware at home.

As far as I know, ICE_Vapa, you can get an account and download it later if you sign up and then do the whole coupon thing - it appears in your user profile as a download.

It is a hefty download, for sure, I just hope my d/l at work doesn't bomb out later tonite :) - I never quite know when d/l'ing a linux distro whether it will be complete or 20% done the next day :)
