WindowsXP and Driver Intolerance

Hi Everyone!
 
 I thought it´d be a good idea to put this topic out there since I suspect most of us are experiencing the same annoyance.
 
 WindowsXP expects digitally signed drivers for installed components - attempting to install a device with compatible, but unsigned drivers will succeed initially but will yield later problems:
 
 My Monitor: Daytek 1726D - I constantly have to reinstall the drivers in order to get the appropriate refresh rates in games. More often than not the install will last only a few days before reverting to ´Plug and Play´ monitor - VERY annoying since I have an nvidia card and subsequently have to use the refresh fix tool again, every time the damned monitor drivers fade.
 
 My Modem: Rockwell V90 56K - The modem must be on to be detected. Thus if I wanted to dial-up I need either reinstall the drivers or restart Windows with the modem switched on -Annoying!
 
 Anybody out there with similar problems or solutions?

win xp wil not alow you to crash it that is why it keeps on droping the drivers , only advice is to get a ds driver
 as for the modem i´m just as clue less
 but here is a tip if you keep on loosing your lan connection dissabel the power saving introdused by xp <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_razz.gif">
