3DMARK??? I GIVE UP!!!

3dmark2003???
 
 Well, as the topic says... I give up!!!
 I am running a
 athlone xp 2000+ (running at 1,67ghz)
 ati radeon 7500
 512mb ram ddr 266mhz
 
 and I am still getting under 60 point
 when I compared it with the online compare...
 everyone gets over 200 points.
 
 I know that I do not have a crap system... my graphics card is the only weak link that I know of... but similar systems (same cpu and graphics card) gets 4-6 times as many points... so what am I doing wrong??

 One of my mates had a 1800+ and he was also getting some funky scores on 3dmark, it turned out the chip was funky, something with the L2 cache not working properly.
 
 It´s worth a bash just checking what the card scores on an other machine of the same spec to yours.

I´m running on a 2000+ PC and 128MB DDR Radedon 8500 , the first test ran smoothly with me getting up to 200 fps at times! But , the 2nd test just got stuck <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif"> <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_frown.gif">

 U sure u got a 8500. Normally a grafix card which dosn´t support all the other game features like pixes shadin won´t continue and as far as i´m concerned, a 8500 supports them vewy vewy well???? <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_lol.gif">

okay guys game test one is direct x 8 compatible while the others begin to use direct x 9 features so you would have problems with those - even with a geforce 4 tI4600 which will only score around 1500 with a topnotch all round system - only cards that are directx 9 compatible are gonna do anything much in 3dmark03 so i wouldnt sweat it if i were you and just stick to playing games till your vid card cannot do that satisfactorily anymore then change it for a newer one
 
 ps even if you install direct x 9 the 85xx series dont support most of those features in the hardware so it will not help you to do so
 
 pps to MR_XTC if your pc does most of the tasks you require it is not a train smash since most of the results on the orb were obtained by tweaking tricks known to users at futuremark forums so you can hang out there and learn to get the score that you want or be happy that youir pc is still okay in most current games - i spend insane amounts of hours at futuremark but i wouldnt be able to justify doing that for 150 more 3dmarks LOL

dude - i just explained above that it wont run the dx9 tests even if you have dx9 installed because the 8500 is only a dx8 compatible card - you cannot use what you dont have and the 8500 does not have certain dx9 hardware features thus it will not run those tests and you can stand on your head and whistle through your backside and that will not change - not trying to be funny here but read the prior posts properly even if you dont like the poster and maybe you will still learn something that you didnt know before

 Would the 9500 and 9500PRO score better in 3DMark, not 100% sure but I think these cards are DX9 compatible.

i got the geforce 4 mx440 and cant run any of the tests in 3dmark2003, in 2001se i get about 7000 3dmarks, does this mean my card is outdated for new games?!?
