a member of this forum 'Gouhan' will be writing for this mag. Gouhan also reviews products at solosreviews.net for those that didn't know already

I went and bought the Magazine yesterday after this thread drew my attention to it. It's a very informative read, and like someone said earlier, targetted at a total different part of the geek spectrum.

Nice hardware reviews and so on....it doesn't dissappoint if you are a hardware kind of guy. I'd say the entire mag is more or less the same as the part that Christo does for PCFormat. Only difference being that it's all about high end modding, expensive equipment and so forth.

My conclusion :
CustomPC = PCFormat gone modding and overclocking mad!!

PCFormat just has more variety and therefore it was, is and will always be my favourite PC Mag!!!

What they do is, they review hardware from overseas as well and in the summary, where they should put in the price they simply state : "Not available locallly".

The editorial states that this is so that local importers can see what the local people want and then add it to their product range...Theoretically a very good idea; how practical it is I really don't know...

I take it that Gouhan will be dealing with all things GPU/VPU related?

Yeah, Gouhan will probably do all the GPU related stuff. I also got my copy yesterday, and to my delight, the magazine is just as good as the UK version, so i'll be buying this every month. :D

There are a few things they're missing, like the "Beat the CustomPC rig", i was looking for that page, but it's not there. These guys have an FX-60, 512GTX, A8N32 setup, i wanna have a go at it with my setup.

@ Laurence, yeah, i got mine at CNA.

I understand that CustomPC is not directly competing with PCF but I don’t feel that it needs to be discussed/promoted on our site.
