Normal Idle temp for X2 3800+

Hi Guys,

If I go into the hardware monitor in the bios my CPU is showing 42'C on idle. Is this normal??

My case is very well ventilated.

By the way played FEAR last night for the 1st time on this rig and ran sooooo smooth @ 1024 x 768 4xAA 8xAF with everything on max.
And on the test setting demo I averaged 54 fps.

Thats good for the stock cooling.

Im getting 35 at the moment with my mine @ 2.4 on a thermaltake silent tower.

Normally it sits at 42 while working and max stress testing it never goes over 50.

I'm thinking of fitting a Tt Blue Orb or the Zalman Fatal1ty CPU Cooler,
anyone have any experience with these 2?

just purchased the zalmam cnps 9500 cu led cpu cooler....madmike i would go for the zalman over Tt

I was thinking the same thing. That cooler looks awesome and doesnt cover your ram,

Where did you get it from and what do they sell for?

Frontosa IT sells Zalman stuff... they should be able to hook you up with one of their dealers.
