Okay, so i just got my Motherboard. It's an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe. Man this thing is nice. All thanks go to Carly for this one!!

Here are some pics:

And a shot of the little radiator's fan:

On the other hardware: I should be getting a 4400+ X2 on monday, the 2x XFX 7800GT cards sometime next week, and Carly will get back to me about the 2x 1GB sticks of Mushkin Redlines. After that has all arrived, i think i'll buy two 160GB SATA 2 Hitachi disks and then my machine will be ready for some modding action!!! So hopefully in about a week the modding will start.

This isn't an update, i'm just informing you guys of an idea.

Because of the motherboard covers, the won't be airflow accross the motherboard, which is why i bought the A8N32, it's got that little fan for the radiator. Now, i'll be water cooling the two XFX 7800GT cards, with maze 4 blocks, and Vantec "Iceberq" ramsinks on the memory. I'll need some airflow accross the ramsinks, so i'm going to put on of theses in the PCI slot under each card:

There's MORE than enough space for them. Unfortunately the UV idea won't work, for two reasons:

1) I'm not a UV fan, so i would never put a UV light in my case.

2) The cards are going to be covered by the motherboard cover, so they won't be visible.

Well since many of the cable will be sleeved in shower hose, leaving the components bare will be dangerous as the hose is conductive. So i'll fabricate a cover for the board to hide the hardware.

OK, i'm not gonna jack your thread dae, but I think people need to know this...

DAE also knows Electronics 123, they are really an awesome place!

But...I found some neat stuff there as in:

A true 30cm black light for R15
CCFL's for R30
Fibre Optic cable pm R17 (1mm diamiter)

there is a crap load of other stuff aswell!

So, i'm gonna make a thread for the place and then we can chat there...If you guys want something me or DAE could get it for ya!

Okay, here's a small update. I just got a different PSU from Carly. This one is ideal, as it only has one fan, which is at the bottom, AND it's a 120mm fan, which just HAPPENS to be chromed. The other PSU i was gonna use had THREE 80mm fans. It came in this fancy packaging:

Image

This is a nice looking PSU, with nickel plating:

Image

And Some purple UV sleeving, with red molex connectors.

Image

The sleeving and molex connectors make a nice combo, if you're into stuff like "My little pony". I think it's hideous, and it's the first thing to go when the modding action starts. The PSU is not officially mine yet, i was afraid that the chroming guys would struggle to chrome this cover, so if they can (i'll ask tomorrow) then it's cool.

What do you guys think?

If the purple sleeving's going then yes it looks sweet.

/ Btw, mind if I ask you a question? - Did you get a big jumper sticker with that new mobo of yours? Because I sticked my dead ABIT's sticker to the bottom of my chassis and now I'm battling to get it cleaned properly so I just wan't to slap another one over it, and I'm getting the same board. /

Purple sleeving 8O The Jap that build it must have been gay or some thing.

Did the PSU come pre-sleeved doesn't look like they did a very good job? :D Now you can sleeve it yellow or blue.... :lol:

@rayne
No, no sticker sorry!!

@wizard
Yeah, it came pre sleeved, but i don't care about the sleeving or the molexes, it's all getting torn off as soon as i start modding and some will be sleeved in shower hose, and some in clear techflex with aquarium hose over that. It won't look ANYTHING like it looks now when i'm done with it.

Use Doom insect poison, or Target or similar, will quickly and effectively clean any residue left from stickers ;)
