Push it to the max but make sure that you keep it cool!

AS5 or Ceramique?

Post by DAE_JA_VOO »

Myself and WiKiD are building new machines, and we don't know whether to go with AS5 or Ceramique for thermal compound. We were thinking the AS5, but what do you guys think?

If memory serves me well, I think there are a number of posts on this forum asking the same question.

Hitting the search button revealed this one on the first page.

I prefer 'Ceramique' though, find it easier to clean and work with.

Both get the job done nicely, with 1-2 deg. difference using AS5.

At 1-2 deg. difference, I just can’t justify paying more for AS5.

Sure, since you guys are importing a bunch of stuff, get the AS5 too.

Better than paying local price.

I've also used both and would definately say AS5, especially at the price you guys can get it. That's less than dealer prices.

Ceramique works better for me, but I use it mostly at way below Zero Deg C, mostly -40 to -50 or so on the VapoLS.

AS5 doesn't work so well here.

For closer to ambient, you would probably be better of by 1deg C using AS5, but ease of installation/cleaning would have me favor Ceramique.

But for that price it's worth taking the AS5?
