My winxp goes all slow after about a month after install and i have tried everything but the only thing that works is reload winxp.

Can anyone give an alternative salution pleaze

Speed up PC- more ram, maybe you just got too many things loaded on the OS! so more ram is my opinion, how much you got, at least 256 i hope, mine runs fine on 512 and my friends runs really well on 1 gig!!

I've got 360Mb DDR 266 Mhz And there arn't many program only the usual stuff but I put them on when I reload my Pc then it works fine but it starts going slow after a while

This patch slowed down XP a lot=811493...If you got this patch installed, uninstall and re-update again....They have fixed it in the mean time.

I've also got 512Mb, runs just nice, but, I just reloaded the OS, everything is back to normal :)

delete all the files in c:\winnt\prefetch\

What is the purpose of the prefetch files. I looked through it and it looks like the start-up's for my programs. Is it safe to delete them?
