The 6600GT SLI 256mb is about R1500,that should be there best SLI card in that price range

Unless you go for a ATI x800 which is not SLI

Don't buy ATI now.

Buy when the X1800's are here in full swing.

Then it will be cheaper.

The R400 you can save pays for an extra 512Mb DIMM.

You can pick up a Sparkle 6600GT for about R1239 new. Two of these should do great.

Though, if you need something now and dont want to get caught in a price war, get the Power Color X800GT, they sell for around R1600.

If you just want to blow it all out and get the best bang for the buck, the Gigabyte 6800GT retails for about R3000. Its also the Turbo Force version. (Yea, I know, nothing amazing, but its there)

i personly have been looking at the XFX 6600GT, its available from Axiz. As far as i can see it seems the cheapest (All though the sparkle above seems a little cheaper but i have no idea where to get it). The XFX gets great reviews on th net and seems very overclocking friendly. Also comes with a great bundle with 3 full games, some demos and 2XDvi converters (its a dual DVI card)
