Redhat 9 Login Problem

Hey guys, have just installed Rehat 9, but i'm unable to login... what is default localhost login...? it keeps telling me username & password is incorrect, but in doing cusom installation the only password i set was for root... able to login as root, but that's only for maintenance so how do i login normally?? Help.....

The first time i installed Linux @ the end of the installation I already forgot the password!
