Did any of you see on the news today about the Hacker that broke into and abused more than 5 million bank accounts?

<BR>Shame poor Banking people are gonna have to start from scratch to try and convince people that online banking is secure.

<BR>Heared it from someone @ work that heared it on Metro FM

<BR>Has anybody got a website that has got the official facts?

<BR>-Going to the bank with your car and throwing in petrol : R50
<BR>-Buying food and coldrink while standing in a que not to die of starvation : R50
<BR>
<BR>-Saving up your whole life savings for a house and then getting it stolen by a Hacker

You should get your facts straight.

<BR>The accounts weren´t broken into - NOR were they abused.
<BR>
<BR>5 million credit card numbers were breached, my a CRACKER and not a hacker.
<BR>
<BR>There are a few fundamental differences between the two, but I don´t expect you to know that because very few well educated people even know that.
<BR>
<BR>No money was stolen, no accounts were abused, and the only thing pertaining to that, was that people were told to carefully check their bank balances.
<BR>
<BR>The money is insured anyways - so even if it was stolen (unlikely) or if the credit card numbers were misused, people wouldn´t be liable for any fraudulent charges.

Graarg, ppl! A hacker is someone who abuses systems, a cracker is someone who abuses programs! There is nothing about intention in the definition of the two. *sigh*
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.
